Workshops 2007
2007, Banner Year for TSRC
The number of TSRC participants is expected to reach 400 for 2007. This should prove to be the busiest year in TSRC’s history. Eleven workshops have been organized for the summer season, held from June through August. Thanks to all the organizers!
First Winter Workshop in TSRC History
During the first week of April 2007, David Wales of Cambridge University organized the first TSRC winter workshop, “Energy Landscapes: Negotiating the Black Diamonds.” Participants were able to enjoy Telluride’s famous ski slopes after morning meetings at the Camel’s Garden. Two more workshops are set for the Winter of 2008.
18th International Conference on Laser Spectroscopy (ICOLS)
ICOLS has hired TSRC to facilitate their 18th conference held in Telluride at the Conference Center, June 2007. Attendance is expected to reach approximately 200 people.

New TSRC President-Elect
Early this year, Kenneth Jordan, Distinguished Professor of Computational Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh, accepted the position of President-Elect of TSRC and Vice Chair of the TSRC Board of Directors.
New TSRC Position: Executive Director
On January 1, 2007 Nana Naisbitt became the first Executive Director of the TSRC. “TSRC has grown a great deal in recent years,” said TSRC President, John Straub, “and we would like to see that growth continue. It is clear that we need the attention of our own executive director. Nana was the natural choice.”
As director, Naisbitt will lead efforts to expand the ranks of TSRC to 1,000 visiting scientists within the next five to ten years. “One growth strategy is offering winter workshops,” says Naisbitt, who has already booked groups, one during the last week of ski season in April 2007, and two more during the winter of 2008.
